Congratulations to Susan Taylor,
Kellie Fennessy, Denise George, and Michelle Ondrey for finishing
2nd in the U.S. Women's Sailing Championship for the Adams Cup.
Susie and her team practiced hard all summer, including coaching
sessions with Pease. They sailed a solid regatta in Cleveland
to bring home silver medals. Click here for results...
COACHING
AT THE 505 WORLDS
Coaching
at top events is not only a way for Jay and Pease to help sailors
improve their racing performance, it's a great way to help us
develop sails that are faster and easier to use on the racecourse.
For every class we make sails for, coaching allows us to observe
our sails in action and get direct feedback on our sails...read

INTERNATIONAL 14 U.S. NATIONALS
Glaser
Sails dominated the 2006 U.S. I14 Nationals held in Long Beach,

threw out a 2nd to finish five points ahead of Tina and Trevor Baylis.
Both used all Glaser Sails. Zach Berkowitz
and Mike Martin, using a Glaser main and jib, finished 3rd. This
event was held as a warm-up event for the 2006 Worlds which will
be held in Long Beach in Sept 2006.
2005
505 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
The
2005 Worlds was an awesome event with 170 505s lining up in one
massive gate start. Jay was in Warnemunde coaching Hasso Plattner/Peter
Alarie as well as supporting Wolfgang Hunger/Holger Jess and Mike
Martin/Jesse Falsone (photo). He was able to get a first hand look
at the trends and techniques used world wide. The happiest trend
is the shift to the Glaser spinnaker. With
input from the Team Tuesday sailors as well as Hunger/Jess, we have
modified the shape to make it easier to fly and more powerful. The
result is fast and the spinnaker was used by the top two finishers
as well as by teams that finished 6, 7, 8 and 9...read

A CLASS CAT WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
Sailing
a new Morrelli & Melvin
/ Jeremy Laundergan-designed NACRA A2 wave-piercer design and powered
by a Glaser sail, Pete Melvin regained
his World Champ title by beating 100 boats in Sanguinet, France.
"With 100 boats on the line the starts were really tricky,
trying to get out clean without a disastertypically we had
three to four recalls every start!" Winds
stayed in the 4- to 10-knot range, with lots of shifts and puffs,
but Melvin put together an incredibly consistent series, including
five second-place finishes, to finish ahead of Australians Glenn
Ashby and Steve Brewin. "Jay and Pease Glaser of Glaser Sails
trained with me in the months preceding the Worlds and developed
the sail that I used," said Melvin. "Downwind, I was probably
the fastest boat in the fleet." Pete has won three World Championships
and over 25 National and North American titles in a variety of multihull
and monohull classes, and has represented the U.S. at the Olympic
Games in the Tornado class.
