Sail Specs & Prices

2007 was a great year for A Cat sailing culminating in a 99 boat World Championship sailed in the turquoise waters of Islamorada, Florida. Four of the top six finishers used Glaser Sails. Lars Guck finished two points out of the winner's spot using a Glaser "Lars1" sail on a Fiberfoam mast and A3. Pete Melvin, also sailing an A3, finished 3rd using a Glaser "PP07" sail on a Hall spar. Mitch Booth and Charlie Ogletree had a duel for Tornado bragging rights with Mitch edging out Charlie finishing 5th overall using a Glaser "Lars1". Charlie finished close behind in 6th using the Glaser "PP07". Both sailed XJ's with Hall spars.

Following Pete Melvin's 2005 World Championship win, Lars Guck and Jay worked hard to develop an extra wide head sail that was as fast for bigger sailors. That effort was so successful that Lars dominated all North American events in 2006 and 2007. Pete Melvin, Howie Hamlin, Pease and some of the smaller sailors then worked hard to develop a faster sail for lighter people. We tried the bigger profile in a lot of different variations and then Jay tried a slightly narrower head with a different shape profile that turned out to be just the thing for smaller sailors.

We now offer two different models of sails:
"Lars1": Powerful sail for larger sailors
"PP07": Speedster sail for great performance across the range for average and smaller sailors.
