Sails
designed and built by Jay have won the North Americans in eight of
the past 10 years. In2005 Pete Melvin won the World Championships
with a brand-new design from our brand-new sail loft! Pete, sailing
an A2 with a Hall Spar and a Glaser sail, followed up with a win at
the 2005 North Americans. In 2006 Lars Guck dominated the North Americans
with the next-generation Glaser main; Lars sailed an A2 with a Fiberfoam
mast. He thought his new sail was especially fast downwind, where
he felt he was able to keep up with the lighter speedsters in all
wind strengths. Glaser Sails were also used by Pete Melvin in third
and Bob Hodges in fifth.
Pete,
Lars and Jay will work together on sail and rig development in anticipation
of the 2007 Worlds in Key Largo, Florida. Jay
and Pease Glaser are both A Class Catamaran North American Champions
and sail actively in the class.
